As my first diary entry as Springfield Farms new Farm Manager, I’d like to take a second to introduce myself. I joined the team in March 2018 after previously working on agricultural trials and subsequently as an assistant manager on a mixed farm in Kent. With a background in direct drilling and being new to strip tillage I am excited for the challenges ahead and I look forward to sharing my journey with you.
I am keen to continue with the innovative nature of the farm and to further the work that Martin has put into refining and developing a system that can work for all, in times as testing as ever.
This coming season we will be running a number of interesting trials including more precision drilling with Wheat and Oilseed Rape alongside running a Glyphosate free field and a permanent companion crop trial. These will certainly keep us busy and definitely something to look out for in the coming diary entries.
